Job summary

Nelnet seeks a GenAI Platform Engineer to own the technical build and deployment of Gemini Enterprise solutions on Google Cloud. You will translate backlog items into working agentic solutions, RAG pipelines, and model integrations for higher education and SLED clients in a hybrid work environment.

You will collaborate with Data and AgentOps engineers to ensure data readiness, infrastructure, and deployment quality, delivering production-grade integrations and maintainable playbooks.

Qualifications

Hands-on experience building GenAI/agentic AI solutions in production (LLM-based assistants, RAG pipelines, multi-agent orchestration).
Experience with Gemini Enterprise Platform or Vertex AI predecessor; able to ramp quickly on Google stack.

Responsibilities

Design, build, and deploy agentic assistants and GenAI apps on Gemini Enterprise Platform.
Implement RAG pipelines and grounding using built-in capabilities.
Build live API and tool-calling integrations with client systems (SIS, ERP, casework).
Provide technical estimates and ensure release readiness with quality gates.
