Job summary

Slate Automotive is building an AI-native vehicle platform and seeks an engineer to tackle real AI/ML problems in production, including GenAI features, data pipelines, and AI applied to manufacturing and supply chain operations.

Strong depth in ML and hands-on coding are required, with a PhD as a strong signal or 3+ years of ML experience for non-PhDs. You will collaborate across Vehicle Engineering, Manufacturing, and Operations to deliver measurable AI outcomes.

Qualifications

• BS/MS/PhD in CS, ML, Robotics, or related fields.
• Demonstrated end-to-end ML project with production deployment.
• Experience with ML systems, model deployment, and monitoring.

Responsibilities

• Build and ship AI/ML features across the model lifecycle.
• Develop GenAI systems, RAG pipelines, and prompts for reliability.
• Create data and evaluation pipelines with robust evaluation frameworks.
• Collaborate with Manufacturing, Operations, and Vehicle Engineering to deploy AI solutions.
