Job summary

Slate Auto seeks a Distinguished Engineer of Generative AI to be the founding technical authority for AI. You will envision, design and ship the GenAI platform for Slate.Auto, write code, and guide enterprise-scale architecture across product lines and manufacturing sites.

The role combines hands-on development with strategic leadership, building agentic systems, model deployment, data layers, and factory-floor AI integrations.

Qualifications

• 15+ years of engineering experience with 5+ years shipping GenAI systems
• BS required; MS/PhD in CS, ML, robotics, EE, or related field preferred
• Deep hands-on experience with LLMs and production AI platforms
• Experience deploying multi-agent systems in production and integration with manufacturing environments

Responsibilities

• Design and own end-to-end GenAI platform architecture
• Build production-grade AI systems for manufacturing contexts
• Lead by building a lean GenAI team and ship with the engineering organization
• Establish standards and guardrails for GenAI across the company
