Job summary

Cincinnatus LLC is placing engineers with a leading AI lab to help build foundational AI models in a 3–4 month engagement. This W-2 role supports remote work within the United States, with San Francisco Bay Area candidates preferred.

We seek Electrical Engineers with deep circuit, power, and embedded hardware expertise to craft rigorous tasks and provide precise feedback for AI training data. Strong communication and 40-hour weeks are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in Electrical Engineering, Electrical and Computer Engineering, or a closely related engineering discipline.
• 5+ years of hands-on professional electrical engineering experience in industry across sectors such as semiconductors, consumer electronics, power/utilities, aerospace/defense, automotive/EV, robotics, telecoms, or medical devices.
• Genuine ownership of real engineering work including circuit/board design, simulations, power system specification, and design reviews.
• Proficiency with common tools (SPICE/LTspice, Cadence, Altium, KiCad, MATLAB/Simulink, ETAP) and familiarity with IEEE/NEC/IPC/UL standards.
• Career progression toward senior/lead roles; PE license is a plus but not required.
• Hands-on use of large language models in professional work and the ability to distinguish solid reasoning from plausible errors.
• Availability for at least 40 hours per week on weekdays.
• Strong written communication and ability to explain complex technical decisions clearly.

Responsibilities

• Guide research and engineering teams to close knowledge gaps and improve AI model performance in electrical engineering, including circuit analysis and design, power systems and power electronics, and embedded and control systems.
• Design challenging, domain-relevant tasks, and write accurate and well-structured reference solutions to electrical engineering problems.
• Evaluate electrical engineering tasks and model outputs and provide clear, written technical feedback, catching incorrect assumptions, unit and sign errors, violated design constraints, and unsafe design choices.
• Develop guidelines and detailed rubrics to assess the quality of reasoning across areas such as analog and mixed-signal design, RF, PCB and board-level design, power distribution, signal processing, and controls.
• Collaborate with other subject matter experts to ensure consistency and accuracy in training data.
