Mercor is seeking a senior Electrical Engineer to join a GenAI-related team, focusing on building foundational AI models through real-world circuit design, power systems, and embedded hardware.

This is a 40-hour-per-week, full-time W-2 engagement through Cincinnatus LLC for 3–4 months, with a high likelihood of extension. Remote within the United States, SF Bay Area candidates preferred.

Competenze

• Bachelor's degree or higher in Electrical Engineering, Electrical and Computer Engineering, or a closely related engineering discipline.
• 5+ years of hands-on professional electrical engineering experience in industry (semiconductors, consumer electronics, power/utilities, aerospace/defense, automotive/EV, robotics, telecommunications, or medical devices).
• Ownership of real engineering work: circuit/board design, simulations, power system specification, design reviews, validation, production.
• Proficiency with tools (SPICE/LTspice, Cadence, Altium, KiCad, MATLAB/Simulink, ETAP) and knowledge of IEEE, NEC, IPC, UL standards.
• Experience with large language models in professional work and ability to distinguish correct answers from plausible but wrong ones.
• Willingness to engage at 40 hours/week; strong written communication.

• Guide research and engineering teams to close knowledge gaps and improve AI model performance in electrical engineering, including circuit analysis and design, power systems and power electronics, and embedded and control systems.
• Design challenging, domain-relevant tasks, and write accurate reference solutions to electrical engineering problems.
• Evaluate electrical engineering tasks and model outputs and provide clear, written technical feedback, catching incorrect assumptions, unit and sign errors, violated design constraints, and unsafe design choices.
• Develop guidelines and detailed rubrics to assess the quality of reasoning across analog/mixed-signal design, RF, PCB/board-level design, power distribution, signal processing, and controls.
• Collaborate with subject matter experts to ensure consistency and accuracy in training data.
