Job summary

The Chemours Company is seeking a Generative AI and Data Science Intern to join our Wilmington, Delaware team (remote work possible for outstanding candidates). The role reports to a senior AI & Data Science team member and runs full-time for at least 6 months.

Responsibilities include developing predictive models in Azure, writing data pipelines in Python, and deploying GenAI solutions across R&D, Finance, Manufacturing, Legal, and Environment teams with hands-on mentorship.

Qualifications

• Pursuing or recently completed Bachelor’s, Master’s, PhD, or Post-Doctoral degree in Data Science, Computer Science, AI, Software Engineering or related fields.
• 2+ years Python experience with pandas and scikit-learn.
• 1+ year experience building predictive ML models or GenAI apps (RAG/hybrid search, UI for apps).
• Fast learner, strong collaborator, and clear communicator.
• Ability to work 40 hours per week and occasionally across teams.

Responsibilities

• Develop predictive models using Azure-based tools (e.g., Fabric, Azure ML Studio).
• Write data prep and analysis routines in Python (pandas, scikit-learn).
• Design and deploy GenAI solutions and apps into production environments.
• Collaborate on full-stack development for small applications and efficient UI/UX workflows.
• Contribute to GenAI hybrid search and model evaluation discussions.
