Job summary

Chemours in Wilmington, Delaware, is seeking a Generative AI and Data Science Intern for a full-time, 40-hour week role. Rolling admissions, with 1–3 interns at a time, and a minimum 6-month commitment. Work hours are 8am–5pm ET, with remote work possible for outstanding candidates.

Ideal candidates are enrolled in a related degree and have 2+ years Python experience (pandas, scikit-learn) plus ML modeling and GenAI application exposure. Collaboration and strong communication are essential.

Qualifications

• Enrollment at an accredited college or university pursuing or recently completed a Bachelor’s, Master’s, PhD, or Post-Doctoral degree in Data Science, Computer Science, AI, Software Engineering, Computational Chemistry, or similar field
• 2+ years of programming experience with Python including pandas and scikit-learn
• 1+ year practical experience in data science building predictive ML models (time-series data and chemical properties)
• 1+ year practical experience developing GenAI applications (using RAG, hybrid search, building UI for applications)
• Strong collaboration and communication abilities
• Motivation to tackle complex business problems and build a robust resume

Responsibilities

• Develop predictive models using Azure platform tools (e.g., Microsoft Fabric, Azure ML Studio)
• Write data preparation and analysis routines in Python (pandas, scikit-learn)
• Participate in dataset design and statistical modeling discussions
• Integrate process control solutions with data science models
• Design and deploy GenAI solutions and apps into production environments
• Collaborate on full-stack development for small applications and UI/UX workflows
• Share best practices for GenAI hybrid search
