Job summary

Cognizant is seeking a Gen AI Architect (Agentic AI & LLM) to design and deliver enterprise AI-powered applications. You will lead architecture, implement agentic AI frameworks, and ensure scalable, observable solutions that drive business value.

The role offers remote work within the United States, with opportunities to mentor teams and shape AI governance, observability, and production deployment strategies.

Qualifications

• 12+ years of experience designing and delivering large-scale distributed systems, enterprise platforms, or complex software applications.
• Proven success delivering production-grade AI and LLM-powered solutions, including agentic AI, RAG, or conversational AI.
• Deep expertise with Generative AI technologies including OpenAI models, prompt engineering, and AI orchestration patterns.
• Hands-on experience with LangGraph, LangChain, AutoGen, or similar agent frameworks.
• Strong full-stack background with ReactJS, Node.js, and modern architecture.
• Ability to define technical strategy, influence architecture decisions, and mentor teams.
• Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD in CS/Engineering or equivalent experience.

Responsibilities

• Architect and develop enterprise-scale Generative AI applications using LLMs, RAG, and automation.
• Design Agentic AI solutions supporting complex reasoning, memory management, and human-in-the-loop workflows.
• Build scalable workflow orchestration with Temporal or similar tools.
• Define AI platform architectures including model routing and observability.
• Establish evaluation frameworks with offline testing and governance.
• Lead end-to-end product delivery from architecture to deployment.
• Mentor engineering teams and promote technical excellence.
