Job summary

The Department of Juvenile Justice in Georgia seeks a dedicated Teacher (GED Instructor) to educate Muscogee YDC students in Columbus, GA. You will teach basic skills, integrate GED concepts across reading, math, science and social studies, and help students set goals toward passing the GED exam.

Responsibilities include creating reports, maintaining accurate grades, administering assessments, and developing individualized plans.

Qualifications

• Requires ability to teach GED skills and integrate math, reading and science across curricula.
• Creates reports and records as required by District/Agency/DOE/Federal Government.

Responsibilities

• Instructs students to earn their GED and cover Mathematical Reasoning, Science, Social Studies, and Language Arts.
• Administers assessments to determine progress and understanding.
• Creates individualized plans and adjusts as students progress.
• Maintains accurate grades and utilizes diverse curricula.
• Works with community agencies, parents, and staff to support student success.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
