Job summary

The BRIDGE in Columbus, GA is seeking a Part-Time GED Instructor to empower young adults toward GED attainment and future opportunities.

You will deliver GED subjects, provide tutoring, create engaging lessons, monitor progress, and support students toward testing success and career goals.

Schedule: Monday–Friday, 9:00 AM–2:00 PM (25 hours/week). A Bachelor’s degree and experience with adult learners or GED curriculum are preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in education or a related field.
• Experience teaching, tutoring, or working with adult learners preferred.
• Knowledge of GED curriculum and adult education best practices.
• Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to motivate and engage diverse learners.
• Basic computer proficiency and educational technology experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide GED instruction in mathematics, reading, writing, science, and social studies.
• Develop lesson plans and activities aligned with GED standards.
• Assess student skill levels and monitor progress.
• Provide individualized tutoring and academic support.
• Maintain attendance, progress reports, and documentation.
• Foster a positive, respectful classroom environment.
• Collaborate with program staff to support student success and retention.
• Prepare students for GED testing and future opportunities.
