Goodwill Industries of the Southern Rivers in Columbus, GA is seeking a Part-Time BRIDGE GED Instructor to support GED preparation and classroom management. The role focuses on teaching reading, language arts, writing, social studies, science, and math to adult learners.

The instructor will plan lessons, deliver instruction using varied methods, and monitor progress. This position emphasizes student-centered learning and inclusive teaching approaches in a BRIDGE program setting.

Qualifications

• Level of knowledge normally gained through completion of an undergraduate degree.
• Minimum 3 years of work-related experience.
• Ability to use a variety of audio-visual equipment.

Responsibilities

• Implement various instructional delivery methods that include group or individualized instruction and computer programs.
• Plan lessons and curriculum based on the learning needs of culturally diverse and multi-skilled students.
• Create a climate that encourages and supports learning.
• Plan and prepare relevant and practical class lessons and monitor students’ performance.
• Administer post-TABE and practice tests to identify level gains, individual progress, and areas of improvement.
• Responsible for teaching the GED test areas (reading and language arts, writing, social studies, science, and math)
• Teach skills to improve academic performance, including study strategies, note-taking skills, and approaches to answering test questions
