Job summary

AVNA Learning Center in New Jersey is seeking a dedicated Part-Time GED Instructor to join our NY & NJ Teams. This role provides GED instruction, develops classroom activities, and monitors academic progress to meet program requirements.

You will support students in reaching personal and career goals, design engaging lessons, and tailor materials to diverse educational levels. The position offers a flexible schedule and opportunities for growth within our team.

Qualifications

• Two years of experience teaching GED or adult education.
• Ability to develop lesson plans and instructional materials.
• Strong classroom management and student support skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop lesson plans and instructional materials that align with students' grade levels and subject areas.
• Provide classroom instruction while adapting activities to meet program guidelines and student needs.
• Encourage and assist students in working toward their personal, educational, and professional goals.
• Establish positive relationships with students to better understand their concerns and identify areas where additional academic support may be needed.
• Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned based on the needs of the organization.

The instructor will also support students in achieving their personal and career-related goals while developing engaging lesson plans and course materials that are appropriate for their educational level and subject area.
