Job summary

East Side House Settlement in the Bronx is seeking a GED Instructor to organize, schedule, and deliver Adult Basic Skills and GED preparation, job readiness, PSP Academy, and sector trainings.

Reporting to the Adult Literacy Education Manager, the instructor will assess learning needs, track progress, support credential attainment, and foster participant engagement to improve literacy and employment outcomes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree required.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work with a culturally diverse population.
• Strong presentation and leadership skills.

Responsibilities

• Organize, schedule, and instruct participants in Adult Basic Skills including GED preparation, job readiness PSP Academy, and sector-based trainings.
• Assess participant learning needs and track academic progress; support credential attainment.
• Foster participant engagement and collaborate with colleagues and community partners to meet program goals.
