Job summary

B&D Industrial Enterprises, Inc. seeks a Mechanical Engineer to design, model and draw gears, shafts and gearbox components, reverse-engineer parts from samples, and produce SolidWorks models with GD&T.

You will conduct gear checks to AGMA/ISO standards, review RFQs, define material and heat-treat, and create routers and estimating standards to keep quotes fast and consistent. Collaboration with machinists and QA is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering Technology.
• 5+ years in gear manufacturing, power transmission, or precision machined components.
• Working knowledge of gear geometry and AGMA/ISO standards.

Responsibilities

• Design, model and draw gears, shafts and gearbox components; produce SolidWorks models with GD&T.
• Check spur, helical and bevel gears to AGMA/ISO standards with the team; use KISSsoft (training provided).
• Review RFQs, define scope, material, heat treat and manufacturing method; build quotes with sales.
• Create routers and estimating standards to keep quotes fast and consistent.
• Collaborate with machinists, programmers and quality on manufacturability and first-article issues.
• Support gearbox teardowns, root-cause analysis and repair recommendations; occasional field visits.
