Job summary

Eurofins Environment Testing Southwest, Calscience, in Tustin, CA, seeks a Chemist I - GCMS to prepare and analyze environmental samples following EPA protocols. This full-time role offers hourly pay and requires GC/GCMS experience.

You will extract, run, and evaluate GC/MS data, maintain LIMS entries, and keep calibrations current while meeting project deadlines in a safety-conscious lab environment. Shifts include M-F 1:00pm-10:00pm, with overtime eligibility.

Qualifications

• 1+ years’ experience operating a GC or GCMS in a production laboratory setting.
• BS or BA in chemistry or related field; 3 years laboratory experience may substitute for a degree.
• Effective time management and multitasking skills.
• Ability to perform and evaluate basic mathematical calculations and formulas.
• Ability to work independently, following written and verbal instructions.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Authorization to work in the United States indefinitely without restriction or sponsorship.
• Professional working proficiency in English, reading, writing and speaking.

Responsibilities

• Extract and prepare samples for analysis by Gas Chromatography Mass Spectrometry.
• Evaluate chromatography and mass spectra for qualitative and quantitative criteria.
• Monitor and manage backlog workload to meet client program requirements.
• Upload and peer review data using the Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS).
• Perform basic instrument maintenance and calibration, including column replacement and ion source cleaning.
