Job summary

ALS is seeking a skilled GC‑ECD/GC‑FID Analyst to operate, maintain, and troubleshoot GC systems within a high‑throughput environmental production lab. You will perform analyses per EPA methods 8081, 8082, and 8015, prepare calibration standards, and ensure data accuracy and regulatory compliance. This role emphasizes quality, speed, and defensible data.

You will document all runs, support method optimization, and collaborate with senior staff to resolve technical issues in a fast‑paced setting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry or a related field.
• 2–4 years hands-on GC‑ECD/GC‑FID experience in an environmental laboratory.
• Experience with EPA 8081, 8082, and 8015 methods.
• Strong attention to detail and data defensibility.
• Familiarity with MassHunter and LIMS.

Responsibilities

• Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot GC‑ECD and GC‑FID systems.
• Prepare calibration standards, QC samples, and analytical batches.
• Ensure compliance with EPA, state, and accreditation requirements.
• Analyze samples using EPA methods 8081/8082/8015 and related GC‑ECD/GC‑FID methods.
• Maintain instrument logs, run documentation, and QA/QC records.
• Support method optimization and documentation of improvements.
