Job summary

Globalstar is seeking a Gateway Manager to oversee the satellite earth station operations and lead a small technical team. The role focuses on supervising staff, managing consumables, budgeting, and ensuring reliable gateway performance.

You'll collaborate with Ground Ops and Engineering Support, maintain documentation, and drive preventative maintenance while developing internal and external partnerships to optimize service levels and cost efficiency.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED-equivalent.
• Engineering technician/technologist designation is helpful but experience can substitute.
• 5+ years hands-on telecom operations in a live environment.
• Detailed knowledge of PSTN, LAN, WAN, UNIX and PC operating systems.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain all aspects of the Globalstar satellite earth station.
• Manage a small technical working group.
• Maintain strong relationships with service providers and Ground Ops/Engineering teams.
• Follow and maintain gateway documentation and procedures.
• Maintain knowledge of Gateway Systems and components.
• Ensure preventative maintenance routines are followed.
• Provide direction and hands-on support for gateway systems.
• Occasional unsupervised work during staff shortages.
• Operate the facility for cost and performance optimization.
• Develop internal/external alliances to support operations.
• Maintain site spares and inventory management database.
