Job summary

AST SpaceMobile is building a global cellular broadband network in space to operate with standard devices and connect billions of subscribers.

The Gateway Antenna Engineer will monitor global gateway and telemetry stations, troubleshoot anomalies, and perform maintenance while collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure continuous network health. On-site work at the Lanham/DC office is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electronics, Telecommunications, or a related field.
• Minimum 3 years’ experience in Satellite or Cellular Communications.
• Experience with RF systems, high-power amplifiers, converters, antenna drive systems, and baseband equipment.
• Strong knowledge of IP networks, fiber optics, modems, multiplexers, and broadband systems.
• Proficiency with remote monitoring tools and fault management systems.

Responsibilities

• Monitor connectivity and operational status of global gateway and telemetry stations.
• Troubleshoot anomalies and network failures, conduct root-cause analysis, and elevate as required.
• Maintain detailed incident documentation, manage trouble tickets, and generate reports.
• Ensure service assurance through real-time monitoring and incident resolution.
• Provide first-line, customer-facing technical support (phone, email, chat).
• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on satellite teleport systems and infrastructure.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams for escalations, upgrades, and system changes.
• Operate and maintain fault management systems to track network health and performance.
