Job summary

AltaGas is recruiting for a Gate Station Technician I to assist in the safe operation and maintenance of GSO facilities and pressure regulating equipment. You will perform routine maintenance, install and inspect components, and support higher graded staff in daily operations at gate stations.

The role requires a High School Diploma or GED, basic math/physics knowledge, and hands-on technical experience. CDL holders may be required to undergo testing; travel and shift work can be involved.

Qualifications

• Minimum 18 months of hands-on technical experience in mechanical trades, manufacturing equipment, pumps or related fields.
• Must pass a criteria assessment prior to hiring.
• CDL holders are subject to testing under Federal Highway Regulations.
• Must be able to smell odorized natural gas; basic drawing interpretation and intermediate computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the operations of GSO facilities.
• Assist in maintenance work on GSO facility equipment and machinery.
• Operate valves as required.
• Perform yard and building maintenance, digging, snow removal, painting, grass trimming.
• Perform periodic station inspections.
• Install tubing, conduit, wiring, piping, and framework for all GSO facilities.
• Interpret company records and drawings; use work orders.
