Job summary

AltaGas Ltd. is seeking a Gate Station Technician I to support safe operation and maintenance of GSO facilities and pressure regulating equipment. You will assist in operating, calibrating, and installing less complex equipment under guidance.

The role requires a high school diploma, basic mechanical/electronics aptitude, and the ability to pass safety and certification training. CDL-holders may be tested; travel and shift work are possible.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 18+ months of hands-on technical experience in mechanical trades or related fields.
• Must pass entrance testing and complete training within 18 months.
• Valid driver's license and ability to meet certification requirements.
• CDL holders subject to federal testing.
• Must be able to smell odorized natural gas.
• Intermediate computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the operations of GSO facilities.
• Maintain and service gate station equipment and machinery.
• Operate valves as required.
• Perform yard and building maintenance and other duties.
• Conduct periodic station inspections.
• Install tubing, conduit, wiring, and framework for GSO facilities.
• Read maps and work orders and interpret company records.
• Communicate via radio and with staff.
