Job summary

Banner Health is seeking a Healthcare Scheduler to support East Valley Gastroenterology in Mesa, Arizona. You will coordinate scheduling for GI locations, engage with patients and providers, and ensure a smooth care journey from intake to follow-up.

Responsibilities include appointment coordination, collecting demographics and insurance data, and providing payment estimates. A high school diploma and healthcare scheduling experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma/GED or equivalent working knowledge.
• 1+ year of healthcare customer service or scheduling experience.
• Experience in medical setting roles (lab, transcription, medical assistant, or receptionist) preferred.
• Ability to use technology to research information and respond to inquiries via calls, emails, or chat.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills for positive customer interactions.
• Proficient keyboarding and ability to use common office software.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills.
• Ability to work as part of a team and meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Schedules medical appointments across providers, facility resources, and payers.
• Effectively schedules tests and procedures using EMR according to protocols.
• Obtains patient demographics, insurance information and necessary documents.
• Provides patients with appointment details and pre/post-instruction.
• Communicates with patients, facilities and clinical staff via multiple channels.
• Collects and manages scanned documents and orders from physician offices.
• Collects pre-payments and verifies insurance to ensure smooth payments.
• Supports inbound and outbound communications for Banner facilities nationwide.
