Job summary

Nuvance Health Med Practice CT in Danbury, CT seeks a Medical Practice RN in Gastroenterology to support clinicians in providing primary care. 40 hours/week, M-F, 8-hour shifts (8:30am-5:30pm).

Open position requires active RN license and BLS; five years of related experience and an associate degree preferred. Benefits include comprehensive medical options and retirement plans. Exempt: No; salary range provided as hourly.

Qualifications

• Five years job-related experience preferred.
• Associate degree preferred.
• Active RN license.
• BLS certification within 30 days.
• Previous medical office experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Triages and assesses patient conditions via phone or in-person consultations.
• Determines the urgency and type of care required for patients based on assessment.
• Provides medical advice and guidance based on assessments.
• Communicates with physicians, nurses and other care team members about patient statuses.
• Prepares materials, supplies and patient for the clinician's exam.
• Obtains patient history and medical information.
• Provides direct patient care, including ear irrigation, vaccinations, wound care and suture removal.
• Collects and processes specimens and performs point-of-care testing.
• Instructs patients on preventive care, medications and tests.
• Contacts patients to provide follow-up and relay instructions.
• Performs organizational responsibilities to support quality initiatives.
• Fulfills all compliance responsibilities.
• Maintains organizational values and dependable attendance.
• Performs other duties as required.
