Job summary

Nuvance Health Med Practice CT in Westport, CT, is seeking a Medical Practice RN to support the General Surgery department. This full-time role involves 40 hours per week, with day shifts from 8:30am to 5:00pm, and requires an active RN license with BLS within 30 days.

Qualifications

• Active RN license required in state; BLS certification within 30 days.
• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Experience in medical practice settings is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Triages and assesses patient conditions via phone or in-person consultations.
• Determines urgency and type of care required for patients based on assessment.
• Provides medical advice and guidance based on assessments.
• Communicates with physicians, nurses and other care team members about patient statuses.
• Provides direct patient care, such as ear irrigation, vaccinations and wound care.
• Collects and processes specimens and performs point-of-care testing.
• Educates patients and caregivers on preventive care and medication usage.
• Contacts patients to relay test results and follow-up instructions.
