Job summary

Powers Health Medical Group in Crown Point, IN is seeking a Medical Assistant to support the gastroenterology clinic and assist the provider with patient visits and procedures. The role may include front desk duties such as scheduling and telephone work, and could involve phlebotomy duties including specimen collection.

Ideal candidates have a high school diploma or GED, completed MA program or CMA/RMA certification, and CPR certification; six months MA experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Accredited Medical Assistant program or CMA/RMA certification required.
• Six months experience as Medical Assistant preferred.
• Must maintain CPR certification; TB may be required for some offices.
• Ability to document accurately and spell terms correctly.
• Organizational skills with focus on patient flow.
• Ability to multi-task efficiently in a busy setting.
• Remain calm and effective in stressful situations.

Responsibilities

• Under provider direction, perform patient care and assist with visits and procedures.
• May handle front desk duties: scheduling, calls, and supply orders.
• Phlebotomy duties including collection and processing of specimens.
• Maintain accurate medical records and documentation.
• Support patient flow and coordination with clinical staff.
