Job summary

Gastro Florida is seeking a competent Gastroenterology advanced practitioner (APRN/PA) to join one of our divisions in Florida. You will assist physicians with patient evaluation, management and treatment, while providing education to patients and families.

Maintains Florida license (ARNP/APRN/PA) with ACLS, and shares responsibility for safe, effective patient care. Strong EMR proficiency and GI experience are highly valued; extended hours and on-call duties are required.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited APRN or PA program.
• Maintains Florida license (ARNP, APRN, PA), ACLS.
• Very proficient with the EMR.
• Preference to candidates with GI experience.
• Assists physicians with evaluation, management and treatment.

Responsibilities

• Assists physicians with evaluation, management and treatment of patients.
• Educates patients and families throughout the care delivery process.
• Delivers safe and effective care under physician direction.
• Assists with hospitalization and post-hospitalization follow-up.
• Maintains accurate, legible clinical documentation in medical records.
• Screens patients for care opportunities and develops plans with treating physicians.

We are seeking competent, conscientious, service-oriented individuals with strong character to be a Gastroenterology advanced practitioner in one of our divisions.

Graduate of an accredited APRN or PA program

Maintains current Florida license (ARNP, APRN, PA), ACLS

Assumes responsibility for professional development and continuing education.

Minimum Requirements:

• Very proficient with the EMR
• Prefer 3 years of experience as a billing provider
• Preference to candidates with GI experience

Essential Functions:

• Assists physicians with the evaluation, management, and treatment of patients.
• Integrates patient and family education throughout the delivery of care.
• Provides safe and effective patient care under the direction of the physician.
• Assists the Provider in hospitalization and follow-up management of post-hospitalized patients.
• Maintains accurate, legible clinical documentation within the medical records assuring compliance with all guidelines.
• Comprehensively screens patients for care opportunities and collaborates with treating physician and/or APRN to develop plans that meet patients' needs and result in appropriate quality care.
• Assesses the data reflective of the patient's status, and interprets the necessary information needed to identify each patient's requirements.
• Coordinates the care and delegates as appropriate to other team members on a defined group of patients.
• Documents in a knowledgeable, skillful, and consistent manner meeting all required and regulatory standards.
• Performs all other duties as assigned.
• Flexible and willing to handle extended hours and on-call responsibilities (evenings, weekends, and holidays).
