Job summary

Gastro Florida is seeking an experienced Medical Assistant to join our fast-paced outpatient team. The role supports providers across GI services, including patient check-in, vitals, and medication coordination in a high-volume setting.

Ideal candidates bring prior GI office experience and proficiency with eClinicalWorks; willingness to float to multiple locations in Pinellas, Hillsborough, Pasco, Hernando and Polk counties is required.

Qualifications

• GI medical office experience preferred.
• Reliable attendance and ability to float to multiple locations.
• Comfortable in a fast-paced outpatient environment.

Responsibilities

• Patient check-in and check-out.
• Insurance verification.
• Patient intake, vitals, medication reconciliation
• Completing medication refills and processing medication prior authorizations
• Order entry, CPT coding, and supporting the providers with documentation
• Understanding of common medications used to treat chronic conditions
• Strong proficiency with eClinicalWorks (ECW)
• Managing the fax inbox, including timely review, routing, and documentation
• Scheduling patient appointments, follow-ups, scheduling procedures (Colon, EGD, etc.) and coordinating provider workflows

We are seeking an experienced competent, conscientious, service-oriented Medical Assistant with strong character to join our team. This role is ideal for someone who is confident in a fast-paced outpatient environment, comfortable with high volume patient loads, and able to integrate quickly with training and work under the direction of the division practice manager.
