Job summary

The City of Alexandria is seeking skilled Pipe Layer personnel for its Gas Department in Central Louisiana. The role involves digging, preparing, and installing gas pipelines, along with routine maintenance of gas utilities, lifts, and manholes.

• Two years' experience in construction/maintenance of pipelines or equivalent.
• Valid driver's license required; Louisiana Class D license within one month of hire.

Responsibilities

• Digs holes, trenches and ditches for pipe laying.
• Prepares and threads/cuts pipe to specifications.
• Constructs, maintains and repairs gas utility systems, lifts and manholes.
• Cleans and maintains equipment and prepares supplies for assignments.
• Operates tools and equipment including mini excavator, pipe saw, probes, and pipes.
