Job summary

USIC is seeking a Locator in Fort Worth, TX. This on-site, full-time role involves using locating equipment to find gas lines, marking areas, and ensuring safe clearance for excavations. Training is provided and prior locating experience is not required.

Workdays are in a fast-paced environment with potential overtime, on-call nights, and some weekends. A valid license and the ability to travel locally are required; a company vehicle and other benefits are provided.

Qualifications

• Able to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
• Available to work overtime, weekends, and on-call shifts as needed.
• Ability to travel locally; some overnight travel may be expected.
• Able to pass a drug screen (safety-sensitive position).
• Valid driver’s license and a safe driving record.
• Able to stand and walk for long periods; lift up to 75 lbs.
• Able to distinguish colors used to identify wiring and mark underground utilities.
• Proficiency with technology
• Able to read, understand locate tickets and maps; basic math skills.
• Able to communicate clearly with colleagues, customers, contractors, and homeowners.

Responsibilities

• Use locating equipment to determine the location of gas lines and mark the area with paint and flags.
• Develop knowledge of underground utility infrastructure.
• Follow all damage prevention guidelines.
• Occasionally locate other utilities depending on project.
• Daytime, full-time shifts with overtime, weekends, and on-call as needed.
