Job summary

USIC is seeking outdoor-oriented technicians for its Advanced Gas Operations division. You will work in the field, independently operating a company vehicle, using locating equipment to identify gas lines and mark work areas to prevent damage.

Great candidates are safety-conscious, able to travel locally, and willing to work overtime, weekends, and on-call shifts. We provide extensive training and opportunities for advancement within a leading nationwide utility locator company.

Qualifications

• Able and willing to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
• Available to work overtime, weekends, and on-call shifts as needed.
• Ability to travel locally during the business day; some out-of-area travel may be expected.
• Able to pass a drug screen (safety-sensitive position).
• Valid driver’s license and a safe driving record.
• Able to stand/walk long periods; lift up to 75 lbs.
• Able to distinguish colors identifying wiring and mark utilities.
• Proficient with technology and maps/prints; basic math skills.
• Clear communication with colleagues, customers, contractors, homeowners.

Responsibilities

• Use locating equipment to determine gas line locations and mark area with paint/flags.
• Develop knowledge of underground utility infrastructure.
• Follow all safety/damage-prevention guidelines.
• As a technician, may locate other utilities depending on project.
