Job summary

USIC is hiring for an Advanced Gas Operations locator to identify gas line locations in designated areas and mark them for excavation teams. You will work in the field using company-provided equipment and may perform occasional hand digging.

The role emphasizes safety, reliability, and clear reporting to protect infrastructure. No prior locating experience is required, though previous field work and a valid driver’s license help; comprehensive paid training and opportunities for advancement are

Qualifications

• Able and willing to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
• Available to work overtime, weekends, and on-call shifts as needed.
• Ability to travel locally during the business day; some out-of-area travel may be expected.
• Able to pass a drug screen (safety-sensitive position).
• Valid driver’s license and a safe driving record.
• Able to stand, walk, and lift up to 75 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Use locating equipment to determine the location of gas lines and mark the area with paint and flags.
• Develop knowledge of underground utility infrastructure.
• Follow all damage prevention guidelines.
• May locate other utilities in addition to gas lines depending on project.
