Job summary

InterCon Construction, Inc. is seeking a field technician to prepare work sites, locate utilities, and install gas piping. You will signal equipment operators, load materials, and configure pipe routes while following safety standards on site.

Responsibilities include assembling gas piping, aligning pipes, digging trenches, and sealing joints. Travel willingness and ability to lift 50 pounds regularly are required, with CDL preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Valid driver's license required.
• Class A CDL preferred.
• Must be willing to travel.
• Must be able to bend/kneel/stand/walk for long periods.
• Must be able to lift/push/pull 50 pounds regularly.
• Experience installing gas mains and fiber optic cables preferred.
• Education in Gas and Utilities Construction preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare work site to locate utilities and eliminate hazards.
• Signal operators to help facilitate movement or alignment of equipment.
• Load, unload and transport construction materials and tools.
• Configure pipe routes.
• Assemble gas piping and equipment.
• Follow safety standards throughout process, including digging trenches and sealing joints.
• Ensure pipes are fitted and aligned using grade rods or transit levels.
• Cover pipes or cable with dirt or other material.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
