Job summary

InterCon Construction, Inc. is seeking a construction worker to prepare sites, locate utilities, and assist with the installation of gas piping and fiber optic cables.

The role involves coordinating with equipment operators, loading and transporting materials, and adhering to safety standards on site. The candidate should have a high school diploma or equivalent, a valid driver’s license, and be willing to travel.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Valid driver’s license required.
• Class A CDL preferred.
• Must be willing to travel.
• Must be able to bend/kneel/stand/walk for long periods.
• Must be able to lift/push/pull 50 pounds regularly.
• Must have strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Experience installing gas mains and fiber optic cables preferred.
• Education in Gas and Utilities Construction preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare work site to locate utilities and eliminate hazards.
• Signal operators to help move or align equipment.
• Load, unload and transport construction materials and tools.
• Configure pipe routes and assemble gas piping and equipment.
• Follow safety standards during digging trenches, installing pipes, and sealing joints.
• Ensure pipes are fitted and aligned using grade rods or transit levels.
• Cover pipes or cable with dirt or other material.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
