Job summary

InterCon Construction in Wisconsin is seeking a construction worker specialized in gas and utility installation to prepare sites, locate utilities and install piping. You will coordinate with equipment operators, assist with loading tools, and ensure safety standards on trenches and joints.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Prepare work site to locate utilities and eliminate hazards.
• Signal operators to facilitate movement or alignment of equipment.
• Load, unload and transport construction materials and tools.
• Configure pipe routes and assemble gas piping and equipment.
• Follow safety standards during trenching, pipe handling and joints.
• Ensure pipes are fitted and aligned using grade rods or transit levels.
• Cover pipes or cable with dirt or other material.

Job Responsibilities

• Prepare work site to locate utilities and eliminate possible hazards.
• Signal operators to help facilitate movement or alignment of equipment.
• Load, unload and transport construction materials and tools.
• Configure pipe routes.
• Assemble gas piping and equipment.
• Follow safety standards throughout the process, including while digging trenches, sliding pipe into trenches, grading trenches, and sealing joints.
• Ensure pipes are fitted and aligned using grade rods or transit levels.
• Cover pipes or cable with dirt or other material.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/Equivalent.
• Valid Driver's License Class A CDL preferred.
• Must be willing to travel.
• Must be able to bend, kneel, stand, and walk for long periods of time.
• Must be able to lift, push, and pull 50 pounds regularly.
• Must have strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Experience installing gas mains and fiber optic cables preferred.
• Education in Gas and Utilities Construction preferred.
