Job summary

GenSystems is seeking a Mechanical Technician to assemble, install, modify, and test mechanical components for power generation equipment, including gas turbine packages. You will read engineering drawings, perform assembly tasks, and ensure high-quality workmanship in a fast-paced shop environment.

The role requires 1+ year of relevant experience, ability to lift 50 pounds, and willingness to work extended hours, including weekends as project schedules dictate.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 1+ years of mechanical assembly experience in manufacturing, power generation, aerospace, oil & gas, or related industries.
• Experience reading mechanical drawings, blueprints, and assembly documentation.
• Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, torque wrenches, and precision measuring instruments.
• Ability to understand mechanical systems, piping layouts, and equipment integration.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work in a manufacturing/shop environment.
• Willingness to work overtime and weekends as required.

Responsibilities

• Assemble mechanical components and systems per engineering drawings, schematics, and assembly instructions.
• Perform fitting, mounting, alignment, adjusting, and testing of equipment such as engines, gas compressors, hydraulic pump & motors, and control equipment.
• Conduct quality inspections throughout the assembly process to ensure compliance with engineering requirements.
• Utilize hand tools, machines, and standard shop assembly tools.
• Maintain equipment and work area in a clean and orderly condition.
• Collaborate with team members to improve assembly processes and enhance operational efficiency.
