Job summary

Form Energy is seeking a Mechanical Engineering Manager to lead the Gas Systems design for our Gen 2, multi-day energy storage platform. You will build and coach a world-class team of engineers, guide cross-functional requirements, and drive cost- and manufacturability-focused design.

Relocation assistance is available; you will mentor engineers, develop verification plans, and release drawings with tolerance analysis.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's in Mechanical Engineering with 10+ years in mechanical design
• Experience leading design for complex mechanical systems and managing 2+ direct reports
• Experience in manufacturing environments and with contract vendors
• Ability to model from first principles and optimize for cost

Responsibilities

• Create white-page designs for Gen 2 product designs
• Collaborate with vendors, manufacturing engineers, and ops to transition from prototype to high-volume production
• Drive verification analysis and testing of designs
• Establish best practices for fluid system design and mentor team
• Recruit and hire engineers
• Release designs with drawings and tolerance analysis
• Guide root cause analysis on systems and components
• Travel up to 20%
