Force Motion Group (FMG) in Brecksville, OH, is seeking a Sr. Operations Manager - Gas Struts to lead gas strut manufacturing at Hyson in Brecksville, Ohio.

This hands-on operations leader will own production operations and manufacturing engineering for gas struts, including machining, assembly processes, and material flow. They are accountable for safety, quality, delivery, and cost while also building the team, processes, standard work, and shift capability needed to scale.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of progressive manufacturing operations experience, including leadership of a production team.
• Demonstrated ownership of safety, quality, delivery, and cost performance in a production area.
• Experience in precision machining and mechanical assembly environments; knowledge of CNC turning and Swiss lathe preferred.

Responsibilities

• Own daily production execution for gas strut operations, ensuring schedule, quality, and cost commitments.
• Lead the daily management system with shift start-up, output tracking, and escalation of constraints.
• Collaborate with planning to convert schedules into executable plans and balance capacity across work centers.
• Drive safety performance and ensure compliant PPE and safe work practices.
• Ensure quality through first-pass yield, scrap control, and structured root-cause corrective action.
• Oversee manufacturing engineering activities: process development, routings, fixturing, tooling and equipment needs.
• Lead process validation, capability studies, and cycle time improvements for new products.
• Partner with product engineering on NPI and transition to full production.
• Define equipment/tooling/layout requirements and justify capital projects.
• Develop and mentor a team of machinists, assemblers, and technical staff; manage staffing and cross-training.
