Force Motion Group in Brecksville, OH, is seeking a Sr. Operations Manager – Gas Struts to lead gas strut manufacturing at Hyson in Brecksville.

The role owns production operations, manufacturing engineering, safety, quality, and cost, with a hands-on approach to scale the business. Responsibilities include daily production execution, safety leadership, process improvement, and collaboration with product engineering on new products.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of progressive manufacturing operations experience.
• At least 3 years leading a production team in a supervisory or management capacity.
• Experience in precision machining and mechanical assembly environments; familiarity with CNC turning and Swiss lathe operations preferred.
• Working knowledge of manufacturing engineering fundamentals: process development, routings, work instructions, fixturing, tooling, and cycle time analysis.
• Experience bringing new products or processes from launch into stable, repeatable production.
• Lean manufacturing experience with 5S, standard work, visual management, and changeover reduction.

Responsibilities

• Own daily production execution for gas strut operations and deliver to schedule, quality, and cost targets.
• Lead daily management system: shift start-up, output tracking, real-time escalation of constraints.
• Collaborate with planning to convert schedule into executable plans; balance capacity and material availability.
• Drive safety performance and enforce PPE and equipment safety standards.
• Manage quality: drive first-pass yield, reduce scrap, and lead root-cause corrective actions.
• Oversee manufacturing engineering: process development, routings, fixturing, tooling, equipment requirements.
• Lead process validation, capability studies, and cycle time improvements for new products.
• Partner with product engineering on NPI and transition to full production.
• Define equipment and layout requirements; justify capital projects; execute approved projects.
• Ensure equipment reliability through maintenance planning and spare parts strategy.
