Job summary

The Energy Cooperative in Hebron, Ohio, is seeking a Service Technician to manage gas service activations and deactivations, inspect and test piping, meters, and metering stations, and respond to service orders and emergencies.

This non-exempt, skilled role requires a valid Ohio driver’s license, the ability to work after hours and on weekends, and strict adherence to safety procedures in a distributed service area.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED with three years gas industry experience.
• Valid Ohio driver's license with good driving record.
• Ability to read and follow written and oral instructions.
• Knowledge of safety precautions and protective equipment.

Responsibilities

• Activate and deactivate gas service to members and consumers.
• Inspect and pressure test piping per National Fuel Gas Code and company requirements.
• Inspect and test service lines for leakage.
• Install, inspect, and change residential and commercial meters; assist with metering stations.
• Respond to service orders, odor and CO tests, turnoffs and collections.
• Perform locates for service and main lines as needed.
• On-call duties after hours, weekends, and holidays; respond to emergencies.
• Maintain maintenance records and related forms.
