RECONN is hiring a Utility Inspection Technician to check gas meters for leaks and corrosion, perform visual inspections, and ensure all required paperwork is completed. You will report to your work area on time, identify abnormal conditions, and work in a fast-paced environment in the Fort Wayne area.

These are daytime, full-time positions with potential overtime and weekend work. Training is provided, and starting pay is $20 per hour, with comprehensive benefits and opportunities for

Qualifications

• Proficient with current technology; smartphone and tablet usage.
• Ability to communicate effectively in one-on-one settings and in groups.
• Must be able to work long hours and weekends.
• Must pass a drug screen and have a valid driver’s license.

Utility Inspection Technician: Responsible for checking gas meters for leaks and corrosion. This includes visual inspection and ensuring all required paperwork / data are completed. Meter Inspection Technicians will be required to report to their respective work area on time at the start of each shift. While on-site, the technician will be responsible for identifying any abnormal operating conditions along with accurately filling out all forms associated with the inspection visit (form may be electronic or paper).

We are currently hiring throughout the Fort Wayne area.

The starting pay is $20.00/hr.

These are daytime, full-time positions and overtime may be required. Instructor led training will be provided. This position may require you to work weekends.

What We Need from You (Our Requirements):

• Proficient at using current technology; smartphone, tablet
• Must be able to communicate in an effective manner in a one-on-one setting and while addressing a group
• Ability to work long hours and weekends
• Must be able to work outdoors in all types of weather conditions; outdoor experience preferred
• Must be available to work overtime and weekends (as needed)
• Must pass a drug screen
• Valid driver’s license and safe driving record required
• Work well within a group, as well as individually
• Ability to use simple hand tools
• Ability to read utility maps
