Job summary

MidAmerican Energy Company is seeking a SCADA analyst for the Sioux City area to analyze, design, test, and implement engineering and business applications and systems. You will evaluate software, provide technical support, and work with vendors to ensure quality and compatibility across platforms.

The role requires six years of experience in systems analysis or software development, a MIS/CS degree or equivalent experience, and hands-on Oracle and SQL database skills, with .NET programming

Qualifications

• Six years of experience in systems analysis or software development.
• Bachelor's degree in MIS, CS or related field or equivalent work experience.
• Experience with Oracle and Microsoft SQL databases.
• Knowledge of client/server, mainframe or web development environments; strong communication and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and handle on-call responsibilities.

Responsibilities

• Provides technical support; problem determination and investigation; implementation of patches/upgrades for commercial applications.
• Support client/server packages both thick and thin clients, and web applications.
• Conduct research to develop or modify application programs; review quality and compatibility with vendors.
• Provide customer support for package software and interfaces; resolve problems with software and respond to enhancements.
• Consult with users to determine feasibility, cost, and time required for new or modified applications.
• Research and analyze strategies across corporate functions.
• Perform basic system analysis and design; handle development issues.
• May guide other analysts in completing assigned projects.
• Provides input to assist in project planning.
