The Florida Public Service Commission in Miami, FL seeks an Engineering Specialist I to assist with the analysis and evaluation of gas distribution systems to ensure safe and compliant installations.

Minimum qualifications include four years of engineering experience; an associate degree with two years of experience or a bachelor’s degree in engineering may substitute. PHMSA Natural Gas training is required within three years, with travel to Oklahoma for courses.

Qualifications

• Four years of relevant engineering experience required.
• Associate degree with two years of relevant experience or a bachelor’s degree in engineering may substitute for experience.
• Knowledge of gas safety industry or PHMSA training is a plus.

Responsabilités

• Assist with analysis and evaluation of gas distribution systems to ensure safe and compliant installations.
• Determine if installations comply with state and federal rules.
• Complete PHMSA Natural Gas Training courses within three years; travel to Oklahoma for training may be required.
• Extensive travel for gas safety field inspections, including overnight stays; a state-owned vehicle is provided.
• Position may require irregular work hours and emergency call-outs.
