Peoples Gas System in Florida (Tampa) is seeking an Engineer II to develop, maintain, communicate, and implement engineering standards, manuals, and processes for operations, safety, and compliance. You will act as the central contact for operational divisions and coordinate with the corporate engineering department to meet business needs.

Qualifications

• Minimum of Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering from an ABET accredited college program.
• Minimum of 4 years of related experience as an Engineer.
• Sustained demonstrated sound knowledge in the functional work area with an expected or higher degree of performance; demonstrated knowledge of policies and work procedures within the Company; knowledge of engineering procedures and the ability to independently evaluate, select and apply standard engineering techniques, procedures and criteria using judgment; ability to read and understand plans and alignment sheets; ability to problem solve and to analyze problems logically; good judgment; Strong organizational and project management skills, good written and oral communications skills.

Responsabilités

• Independently evaluates, selects and applies standard techniques, procedures and criteria in carrying out engineering tasks using judgment in making minor adaptations and modifications and considering federal regulations and state codes; receives some supervision on new aspects of non-routine assignments; using prescribed methods, performs specific and broader portions of assignments; may have some responsibility for training and orientation; schedule/coordinate project meetings; prepare engineering analyses, write specifications and reports as directed.
• Support the development and maintenance of company-wide manuals and procedures to ensure regulatory compliance and best practices are adopted and used.
• Coordinates the management of change process and continuous improvement for company-wide standards, plans, and processes regarding gas operations, engineering, safety, training, and compliance.
• Assist in the development of programs and related Company standards as they apply to outside contractors and construction of the Company’s gas facilities, some of these include: construction standards, operating and maintenance.
• Travel throughout the Company’s service area to provide support as needed.
