Job summary

The AES Corporation in the United States seeks a Director of Strategic Sourcing for Gas and Power to lead the purchasing strategy for gas-related equipment and services across AES Renewables & Power. You will manage contracting with suppliers and collaborate with project teams to ensure safe, timely and cost-effective supply for AES projects.

The ideal candidate brings 10+ years in gas and power, 5+ years of leadership, and strong negotiation and relationship-building skills to drive value

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required in a technical or business field.
• Minimum 10 years in gas and power related roles.
• 5+ years of people leadership experience.
• Strong contract negotiation experience required.
• Financial acumen for project cash flows (IRR/NPV).
• Proven ability to build strategic supplier partnerships.

Responsibilities

• Lead gas-generation contracting for AES Renewables & Power.
• Develop and negotiate strategic supply agreements with vendors.
• Establish best-in-class sourcing for generation projects and maintenance.
• Monitor supplier performance, cost avoidance, and risk management.
• Collaborate with Engineering, Construction, and Development teams.
• Define sourcing strategies and explore alternate sources of supply.
