Job summary

Blattner, based in Avon, Minnesota, is seeking a Buyer to oversee the end-to-end purchasing of materials and equipment for energy projects. You will plan, issue and track purchase orders, coordinate transport, and collaborate with the Sourcing team to optimize cost and supplier performance.

The role requires 2+ years in purchasing or supply chain, an Associate degree, strong negotiation and communication skills, and MS Office proficiency. Travel up to 25% may be needed.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience in purchasing, planning or related Supply Chain function.
• Associate degree or equivalent; APICS or other certification preferred.
• Understanding sourcing strategies and supplier terms & conditions.
• Strong negotiation, analytical, organizational and communication skills.
• Proficiency with MS Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel).
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and manage multiple projects.

Responsibilities

• Plan, generate, adjust and expedite purchase orders based on requisitions, BOMs and inventory strategies.
• Track and monitor POs; communicate delays to Planner/PM.
• Maintain supplier communication to ensure on-time delivery and data integrity.
• Analyze data in systems for cost, lead-times, stock levels and item class accuracy.
• Identify at-risk materials and recommend expedited supply or supplier changes.
• Lead RFx processes to support cost, quality and timing goals.
