Job summary

Blattner is seeking a Buyer to manage end-to-end purchasing for materials and equipment at our Avon, MN site. You will plan, issue, and track purchase orders, coordinate transport to construction sites, and work with suppliers to meet quality, cost, and timing targets.

You will analyze data, manage RFx processes, and optimize inventory levels while traveling up to 25%. The role emphasizes collaboration with Sourcing and project teams to support renewable energy projects across the U.S.

Qualifications

• Requires an associate degree in a related field; APICS or similar certification preferred.
• 1 year of experience in purchasing, planning or related supply chain function.
• Understanding of supplier terms and commodity markets.
• Strong communication across leadership levels; problem-solving ability.

Responsibilities

• Plan, generate, and expedite purchase orders from requisitions and BOMs.
• Track PO status and communicate delays to planners/project managers.
• Maintain communication with suppliers to ensure on-time delivery and data integrity.
• Manage supplier assets and dispose of obsolescent items.
• Analyze data (costs, lead times, safety stock) to ensure data accuracy.
• Identify at-risk materials and propose expedited supply or alternate sources.
• Plan RFx processes and negotiate pricing/terms.
• Support inventory and replenishment strategies to meet service levels.
• Interface with multiple departments to resolve material needs and issues.
• Use sourcing solutions to improve value and service in spend areas.
