Job summary

Targa Resources is seeking a Pipeline Technician to safely operate field gathering and pipeline systems and to maintain related equipment. You will work under supervision to ensure efficient transportation of natural gas and liquids, with emphasis on safety and reliability across field sites.

The role involves field operations, maintenance planning, data collection from EFMs, and coordination with teams to minimize downtime while adhering to PPE requirements and regulatory standards.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2+ years of related work experience.
• Minimum High School Diploma or Equivalent.
• Possess and maintain a valid driver’s license with good driving record.
• Interpersonal communication skills are required to interface with all teams, personnel and vendors.
• Execute maintenance activities related to plant maintenance and operation.
• Strong work ethic with ability to work with minimal supervision.
• Solid computer skills including Microsoft Office.
• Ability to work overtime, weekends, holidays, and respond to call outs.
• Ability to lift, push, and pull at least 50 lbs.
• Ability to work in changing climate conditions.
• Able to work in close quarters and wear PPE.
• Regular and reliable attendance.

Responsibilities

• Operate field gathering and pipeline systems safely and efficiently.
• Perform pipeline locates and monitor contractors working near pipelines.
• Attend to One Call locates, marking pipelines and notifications.
• Assist pigging operations and document procedures.
• Manage inventory at sites (glycol, methanol, NGLs, produced water).
• Monitor flow rates, estimates, and volumes; monitor line conditions.
• Obtain data from electronic flow measurement devices.
• Contribute to field procedures and coworker training on safe operations.
• Perform routine startup/shutdown of field equipment and support emergency procedures.
• Perform pipeline maintenance including corrosion monitoring and pigging.
