Job summary

Targa Resources is seeking a Pipeline Technician to safely operate field gathering and pipeline systems in support of natural gas transportation. You will maintain field compression facilities, processing plants, and related equipment, while adhering to safety and regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities include locating pipelines, pigging support, inventory control at sites, and data collection from flow meters.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2+ years of related work experience.
• High School Diploma or Equivalent.
• Valid driver’s license with a safe driving record.
• Strong interpersonal communication skills.
• Execute all maintenance activities related to plant maintenance and operation.
• Ability to work overtime, weekends, holidays, and on-call, with shifts.
• Ability to lift, push, and pull at least 50 lbs.
• Able to work in changing climate conditions.
• Follow PPE guidelines (eye/ear protection, footwear, FR clothing).
• Regular and reliable attendance.

Responsibilities

• Operate field gathering and pipeline systems safely and efficiently as directed by supervisor.
• Perform pipeline locates and monitor contractors and right‑of‑ways.
• Perform One Call locates, marking pipelines, and notifications.
• Assist pigging operations and maintain proper documentation.
• Manage site inventory (glycol, methanol, NGLs, produced water).
• Monitor flow rates, volumes, and pipeline balances.
• Observe conditions and respond to flow restrictions in gas systems.
• Collect data from electronic flow measurement devices.
• Help prepare field operating procedures and train coworkers.
• Perform minor repairs on compression equipment; assist with major repairs.
• Start/stop field equipment and follow emergency procedures.
• Maintain pipeline protection, corrosion monitoring, and pigging activities.
• PSM-related duties and safety tasks as assigned.
• Test O2 and H2S levels in gas streams.
• Understand PLCs and related instrumentation.
• Fill out work permits, lockout/tagout, and participate in tailgate sessions.
• Other duties as assigned.
