ENTRUST Solutions Group seeks a knowledgeable Utility Inspector for field oversight of gas distribution projects in the Des Moines, IA area. You will ensure safety, quality, and regulatory compliance while coordinating with contractors and landowners.

The role requires strong knowledge of gas distribution regulations, 5+ years in the utility industry, and the ability to read blueprints. A valid driver’s license and outdoor readiness are essential.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in the utility or pipeline industry.
• Experience with distribution main and service replacement projects, especially installing new poly mains and services.
• Strong knowledge of gas distribution, pipeline regulations (49 C.F.R. Part 192), and utility construction methods.
• Experience reading and interpreting utility plans, blueprints, and technical drawings.
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills to coordinate with contractors, landowners, and stakeholders.
• Physical ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and conduct field inspections.
• Valid driver's license and clean driving record.

Responsabilités

• Oversee and direct pipeline and gas distribution field activities to ensure compliance with OSHA laws, Federal Safety Standards and client policies.
• Conduct visual inspections of pipeline and poly gas main installations.
• Review and interpret engineering drawings, codes, and construction schedules to verify regulatory compliance.
• Use independent judgment to determine code compliance and issue stop-work orders if needed.
• Perform quality control checks on contractor work and adherence to standards.
• Oversee excavation, backfill, pipe installation, testing, and documentation.
• Maintain records of contractor work, monitoring compliance, efficiency, and safety.
• Conduct daily safety inspections and participate in safety briefings to ensure site safety.
• Coordinate construction activities with landowners and verify contractor OQ requirements.
• Observe and report daily construction activities to ENE and the client.
