Essential Functions

• Assist crew leader with construction, reconstruction, and maintenance tasks
• Support equipment operators, perform hand digging, locate underground obstructions
• Operate specialized equipment such as jackhammers, rotary drills, and power fasteners
• Signal equipment operators to facilitate machinery and material movement
• Work safely around heavy machinery like backhoes, excavators, trenchers, and dump trucks
• Prepare construction sites to eliminate hazards
• Perform additional duties as assigned

Success Factors

• Ability to perform heavy manual labor for extended periods, often in adverse weather conditions
• Lift up to 80 lbs repeatedly during shifts
• Climb, dig, work in tight spaces, on uneven surfaces, and perform physical activities like walking, stooping, kneeling
• Follow oral and written instructions accurately
• Work independently and collaboratively with team members
• Pass motor vehicle and criminal background checks; comply with drug-free policies
• Communicate effectively in English for record-keeping and reporting
• Willingness to learn new skills

Experience and Education

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• Experience with underground utilities is desirable
• CDL A license is a plus
• Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus
