Job summary

Burns & McDonnell in Kansas City and other locations seeks a Project Manager to lead gas-fired power and heavy industrial projects. You will oversee owner’s engineer roles, EPC activities, and execution plans, coordinating across engineering, procurement, and construction teams. The role requires travel to client offices, sites, and fabrication facilities; strong leadership and communication are essential.

Qualifications

Bachelor Degree in engineering, construction management or related degree from accredited program.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, attention to detail.
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, demanding work environment; overtime on short notice.
Excellent computer skills and proficiency using Microsoft Office.
Ability to work collaboratively in a multi-disciplinary project team environment.
Strong experience with document control, scheduling, cost control and project management software.

Responsibilities

Manage overall planning and execution of Owner’s Engineer, detailed design, or EPC projects.
Serve as primary interface between client and project team; align objectives and performance.
Lead proposal development including project scope, schedule, and staffing; assist with contract development.
Develop and implement the project execution plan.
Lead multidisciplinary engineering and design efforts; coordinate with engineering managers and leads.
Establish and manage project schedule, budgets, forecasts, and financial performance.
